Problem with recommendation?

<p>I have three solid recommenders (one of whom knows me very well, was my thesis advisor, etc.), all of whom I am using for my seven applications to IR programs.</p>

<p>All three of them were my professors. Unfortunately, I discovered a little too late that the Fletcher School would prefer that one of the three letters they require be from a professional source. I have already submitted my application online and cannot access it to change my recommenders (one of them hasn't sent in his recs yet).</p>

<p>Is this a major problem, a serious deal-breaker?</p>

<p>My GRE score is very high, my GPA not so great, but in the low 3's, my travel and work experiences pretty solid, so I'm really hoping that my recommendations can tip the balance in my favor.</p>

<p>If you really think it can help with your chances contact the admission office of that school and tell them you need to replace a recommender. They must help you out that’s why you pay application fee. If you don’t get replies to your emails call them up or stop by if you can. It is too early to give up on modifying your application, most schools start reviews in Jan/Feb</p>
