Ah, so you are international, which is why your teacher or principal may not be familiar with the common app. Here is what you can do to help:

1) Go to the commonapp.org site and then click on the tap at the top called “Download Forms”: https://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/DownloadForms.aspx

2) Fill out your information on each of these pdfs online, then print them out:

A. Teachers
Teacher Evaluation (1 for each teacher that will write a recommendation)
B. Counselor (Your principal)
i. School Report Only
ii. Optional Report Only (Used to send grades prior to mid-year,
not all schools need this one)
iii. Midyear Report Only: (used after mid-year grades are available)
iv. Final Report Only: (once you graduate)
v. International School Supplement to the School Report Only

3) Give your teacher(s)the teacher evaluation form along with an envelop with enough postage to get to the U.S. easily. This can be mailed separately from the other counselor forms.

4) Give your principal the counselor evaluation forms (i, iii, v). He/she should fill these out best he can. He should also print out your full transcript from grade 9 until now. The transcript should made official in some way (principal signature, school stamp or seal). Put all the information from step 2B (forms i, iii, and v) and your transcript into a large envelop and send that to the college(s) you need to apply. There are a lot of forms, so you may want to help organize the forms and make sure they all get filled in, copied, and sent.

5) Once you are accepted to a school and you choose one, you can mail your final transcript (iv) to that college to complete your acceptance.

Sorry, I didn’t understand you were international … this may not be exactly correct, as I am U.S. Look on other parts of College Confidential to see what other international students did to make sure I didn’t leave something off.
