Problem!

I sent in a number of apps. saying that I was involved in certain ECs for four years (I counted this coming year - my senior year). I thought that was the standard way to do things but I guess I was wrong. Is this itself going to be an issue?

To make matters worse, I'm thinking that I might drop some of these ECs to take up other ECs (for example, I might quick track to get a job). Would this be grounds for being deferred or rescinded if they found out that I technically lied about doing an EC for more than I had been doing it?

Please help. Thank You.

How exactly are they going to find out you aren’t in a particular EC? I mean, if it is something big that your letters of recommendation will highlight, then yeah, they might notice. If not, I doubt they will notice. They go through thousands of apps, and I doubt they want to check to make sure EVERY EC is accounted for.

In terms of changing EC’s, I don’t really know what to say there. Admissions might see it as a “last-minute change to please admissions”, but if you have legitimate reasons, I don’t see why you shouldn’t (i.e., stress, family needs for a job, etc.).

Fair enough. What about saying that you did something senior year before senior year even began? For example, I put down four years of varsity XC, but I turned in my application before senior year XC even began. How do they feel about that?

Obviously, I plan on completing four years of varsity XC.

Bump. Hello?
