I've been trying to complete my FAFSA For 14-15 since this morning and it keeps resetting and going crazy anyone else having problems?

lol, I haven’t even started.

Just wait and see if that problem clears up tomorrow.

The first to apply get the FSEOG grant haha that’s why today

I got the FSEOG last year and I applied after the priority deadline of March 2nd. I applied in June and still got. You have until March 2nd for priority consideration. Be patient bro it’s only the first day.

Maybe there’s a low pool of people with 0 EFC’s at your CCC, I’d rather apply first and get in than risk it and wait lol

I got FSEOG this year and $7,000 in Work-Study at my CCC because I applied Jan.1st and have a 0 EFC. According to my financial aid office…

Agree with stanx89. You have until March 2nd for priority consideration. There’s no reason to freak out right now. Just check up on it in a couple of days or so.

Yeah I’m having problems with it too. Probably because it’s the first day

Also the Financial aid form your filling out is not for this upcoming semester. It will be effective in the Fall 2014 semester. You have been awarded your financial aid for Spring 2014 already. No need to worry @Matt4200. There is no telling how much money will be awarded to you when you transfer. I think they will alert you of this, when you get your acceptance letters, if your accepted.

So applying today is the same as applying March 1st?

I doubt that, because 3 of my friends did their FAFSA last year they go to the same CCC with essentially the same stats and one of them got Work study but only 3k the other two were told they were out of luck all the work study was used up and they applied the first week of Feb. I applies Jan 1st and for 7k.

So just my experience

Fafsa was working fine when I filed right after midnight… Not because I think it will make a difference, just to get it out of the way. I tend to forget things if I put them off. Either way my efc is 0 so hopefully that means some decent aid when I transfer.

@LadySholar86 - If my experience is correct it should mean that you will get something extra depending on where you go Work-Study, SEOG etc…

Submitted my FAFSA with no problems.

@matt4200 that would be amazing! I’m a single mom of 3 and every little bit definitely helps the least student loans I have to get, the better.

Don’t you need to do your taxes before you do your fafsa? That’s what I’m waiting on.

@sega18

If you’re extremely poor like my family is, you don’t need to worry about filing taxes—you can pretty much fill out the fafsa immediately. :P

@Cayton - Same situation

Not filing taxes lol but you can write “Will File” and do your FAFSA still.

My only income was Fed. Work-Study and they don’t take taxes out of my paycheck because it’s Work-Study and cause I work less than 20hrs a week so there’s no point in doing my taxes, sure I can try to get $100-$200 back through filing my taxes but it’s extremely complicated to do cause it’d be through like the AEOC tax credit to get $$$ back for school supplies and I’d rather not even deal with the IRS haha I haven’t heard good things.

Filling January 1st is the same as Filing March 2nd priority deadline… FAFSA is not 1st come 1st serve, or else it would be like black friday and everyone would try to applying at new years eve parties…

however the difference between filling march 2nd and march 3rd are astronomical… (at least 12k worth for a UC student)
