Even with all the partying and studying I seem to have many hours of free time in college, but i'm not sure what to do with all the time.
I mostly want to do things that will help me when i graduate, any ideas? what does everyone else do with their time

volunteer, exercise...

--find a part-time job and either help your parents out with the expenses of college or. if your parents are wealthy, save the money to use when it's time to be "self-reliant".

--learn how to relate to other people as friends and individuals, not just partying companions.

--explore the off campus environment of your college

--learn a new skill: musical? artistic? athletic? communicative? culinary?

volunteer, exercise

make friends from very different backgrounds

anyhting that gets you involved will help after you graduate...join an intermural sport...coach a kids team...go explore your area...go to lectures, concerts

what pye said

what will help you is become a well rounded person who deals well with people, knows the world a bit, can communicate and is a complete person

what do you want to do after college...and realize what "job" you want will be helped by connections, experience (in a range of areas)

hey, have you ever built a set for a play, painted, worked on a campaign, etc

what city are you in

On top of being involved in campus I'm writing a novel and collaborating on a screenplay. It lets me use my passion for writing to be productive, plus when I'm done I'll have something that I can share with others. In terms of collaboration it gives me a chance to get closer to the friends I'm working with and hopefully end up being paid to write. If you have free time I would advise pouring it into your passion rather than just having something to put on a resume.

Hit up the gym, or work on campus. Thats what I would do at least.

i have a job for a few (3-6) hours a week just to bring in spending money, and i'm part of the SGA. Both are extremly fun, and i've met a ton of new people (mmm networking!)

Make study guides not only for yourself but for your classmates.

Take an extra class in a subject that you know NOTHING about. Never touched a musical instrument? Take a music class. There are many that require no previous knowledge, and you will be exposed to something that you wouldn't otherwise. Think about it, there are professors all over your school who have vast amounts of knowledge about almost any subject, and they are just waiting to give that knowledge to you. At no other time will you be surrounded by such a variety and depth of knowledge.

I also would suggest volunteering.

Go see plays put on by your fellow students.

My main EC type things are musical instruments and volunteer work. I tutor at an elementary school, and this will be my 3rd semester with the same kid (I also got another one this semester, so know I have 2). I find it really rewarding when you can see how they improve. It can also be frustrating though when they just don't get it or aren't putting in the effort.

exercise

learn how to play guitar or piano, and sing well, or at least strengthen your voice. take lessons from a friend or a formal teacher if necessary.

Those are two things that you will absolutely never regret doing.

ill be building a car...

im building a nuclear bomb.

Well, just look at it this way: that won't help you later on in life because 3 years from now the US gov't still wouldn't have found it. Sorry chief

Watch a lot of porn.

^^ hahaha werd to the man upstairs

i guess laziness is my worst enemy here

thanks for all the advice btw

if u want to do do productive things i suggest u start catching up on some of the leisure readings that u perhaps left unfinished because of the busy life u might lead.

readings that will change ur life:
republic by plato
ancient alexander biogrpahies: arrian, plutarch, curitus
the history of the decline and fall of roman empire by gibbon (perhaps the longest book ever written in english prose. something like more than twice the length of the bible)
livy's history of rome (also very loooong)
the first principles by herbert spencer (also very loooong)
dickens work (if u want some reprieve from the difficult language of callsic works. to give u some time to breathe)

if u hate books, go visit some museums. if u go to ucla, the getyy is only 3 miles from campus

go do a marathon

join me in trying to steal some of delacroix from d'orsay and some caravaggio from the louvre. just kidding.

point ur laser pointer at other people.

there is this one museum in vienna where if u go there nude, u get free admissions. go there (if u are a female) and take me with u

brag to people how smart and handsome u are.

i've run out of ideas...

Read manga, never study, post on CC forum after you've got to college, and count the clouds passing over your dorm on any given day.

more productive things to do:

start flexing in front of girls.

practice ur speech for ur future girlfriend which u will never have

start practising how to take shower, how to walk like a ganster

start practising how to climb walls, so that u can be mistaken by passers-by as spiderman.

go to a crowded street and kneel and pray.

become a catholic priest and specialize on doing confessions for women.
