i had asked my professor if he could write me a letter of rec for an internship recently (around 1.5 weeks ago?). haven’t been able to get a hold of him since (we have since had our final but he wasn’t around for office hours and we’re on break now). emailed him twice since then but no reply. he typically always replies to emails though. hasn’t submitted our grades yet either so im not sure if he perhaps took a quick vacation or something and is away from his computer and stuff… if so i dont blame him!
anyways a deadline is approaching soon for the internship application and the application shows that he hasn’t completed the letter of rec yet. should i email him again about it? the deadline is at the end of the month. i even wrote out my essay and i would like to have him look at it but i really don’t want to bother him if he’s busy. im not really sure what to do in this situation. normally i wouldn’t be this shy about sending an email like this but i know he’s truly been busy lately and i don’t want to be a nuisance. plus it might seem selfish or impatient of me since he knows i know how busy he is. usually he replies back to emails so this no reply thing has sort of made me more conscientious about sending one again…
i also don’t want to start another email with “hello professor, i was wondering if…” is there a better way to begin an email that asks something of your recipient?
