Professor Review

Where do you do your BG checks on your professors?

uhhh....

I do not know of doing background checks on professors. But, you can go on ratemyprofessors.com, professorperformance.com (used to be called, myprofessorsucks) or myspace to read little reviews.

If you are interested in the academics of the prof you can google them on the google scholar or something.

Thanks for the links, Merlin.

i have used ratemyprofessor.com, but i often dont agree with the posts.

I am a member of a greek org so I ask around my sorority to people who, i think, are like me (similar academic goals, academic calibur, etc). That has been pretty successful.

I didn't mean real bg checks ;)

Thanks for the links

ok so ratemyprofessor.com I never liked, and professorperfomance has like 3 teachers for my entire school; what was that about myspace?

Well, myspace has professor reviews.

http://www.pickaprof.com is a useful tool for assessing how a particular professor assigns grades. It is less useful, however, for a professor teaching a class for the first time.

what is professorperformance? i have never heard of it

ratemyprofessor has always been accurate for me.

"Well, myspace has professor reviews." can't see or find what you're refering to.

On myspace you have to add your school, and then on your homepage, right under where your picture and profile editing options are there is a link that says "grade my professor! try now!" and it has a little picture of a graduation cap. It's the first link on the white page under the blue square in the top corner.

I think flgirl04 has the best idea. Your peers, who have similar interests, agandas, and academic goals will have you a more useful evaluation than random strangers on a website, especially if the professor in question only has two or three ratings.
