Okay this may be a dumb question, but are professors GENERALLY cool with students not going to class if it directly coincides with a major sporting event. Anyone have direct experience with this at all or heard about it?

Reason I'm asking is I have a math class that ends at 7 pm, the exact date and time of when the first football game begins. Any responses help! I'm just curious really so thanks in advance!

If it’s a large, lecture hall math class and the professor does not take attendance, you can skip every class other than exam day and they won’t care. I wouldn’t advise it, but you won’t be missed.

Thanks for the input! I’m going to assume it’s a large class (finite math) because almost every freshman is taking it. Thanks!

Yeah I took it last year and it was a large lecture. You should be fine skipping to go to the game.

Some Finite profs give random quizzes, but as long as yours doesn’t, you should be fine.

okay great. i won’t be missing the first day of class, however, so i’ll at least get the syllabus and everything so that’s good. i don’t think the second day of class will be too intensive, so i’ll ask one of my classmates what happened in class. i’m sure many people will be “absent” as well. thanks guys!
