what a pointless thread.

Around 2000, although my essay was terrible… estimating a max. of 8.

Already have 2340, not sure why I took it again.

Projected (Already have):
M: 800 (800)
CR: 750-800 (740)
W: 750-780 (800) essay was eh and there were a few questions that i was confused on regarding whether parallelism or brevity with slight confusion was the best choice

Totaling 2300 - 2380

math: 770 (-1 mc)
cr: 700? (about 6-7 wrong, none omitted… d’oh!)
writing: 760 (havent seen a question that i’ve gotten wrong yet, tho my essay was probably a 9 or 10 haha)

i’m just hoping for more than 2200, cuz my critical reading and essay could be dealbreakers ! /:

can someone please tell me what these would be:

Math: -1 MC, -1 Grid in, no omits, i quadruple checked the rest but maybe I made a dumb mistake

Reading: I have no idea, maybe 2 to 5 wrong.

Writing: Probably a 9 or 10 essay LOL. Maybe 3 or 4 questions wrong.

What would you estimate these as? I need to know so I can send in my scores… I don’t want to spend the $.

What would my projected score be with:
Omit 1 math (same thing as missing the one grid-in)
-0 on writing, 11-12 essay
2-4 wrong on CR

So like 770-790 Math, 780-800 Writing, 760-780 CR?
Am I right to think of 2310 - 2370?

^

M: 770-790
W: 800
CR: 740-800

So, 2310-2390.

if i miss 2 on CR, 0 on Math, and 2 on Writing with a 11/12 on the essay…

could i still get 2400?

kinda freaking out…

Yes, IHAVEBIGHUANG

2 missed on CR is always 800, so is 0 on maths.

2 missed an 11/12 essay should be an 800 as well, slight possibility of a high 7xx.

Estimating a 2000-2100. Of course it could end being better than I expect. This was my first time taking the SAT and I didn’t get much prep time (about a week) due to being out of the country for two months and forgetting my book.

Math: 600-680
CR: 750-800
Writing: 750-800

Felt like I had a decent essay, but you never know. So far I haven’t come across any questions that I missed on the CR and writing sections.

Does anyone know what 3 wrong 0 omits on CR should amount to?

^ ~750-760.

@a1rplanes I think it’ll be higher than a 750… I got -4 on the last test, which was a lot easier in my opinion, and got a 750. I think it’ll probably be 760-780.

Thanks @deepblue14! that makes me feel a bit better.

Can anyone offer some help on this:

In response to the “should we care about other countries besides our own” prompt I wrote a 2 page essay using 2 examples. The first example used a George Orwell short story (“shooting an elephant”) where Orwell, a police officer in Myanmar, shoots an elephant that the local people wish to have killed, even though he’d rather keep it alive, aka he respects the locals’ wishes before his own).
The second example was about the 2008 Mumbai disaster and how fleet-of-foot America was to respond with their military, red cross…etc. Demonstrated a genuine care for another country.
My intro described how we live in a society that spins on a global axis; i said that nationalism is obsolete and it is fantastically important to care deeply about the other countries around the globe. conclusion said that in a perfect world we would always know exactly how to help one country or another out of an economic tailspin or widespread epidemic, but we can’t; all we can do is respect other countries, help them all we can, and establish ourselves as a country that is “reliable” and can be counted on when disaster strikes.
Do people think this is a promising essay? 10-12 worthy?

What sort of score should I expect?

Math: 2-3 wrong
CR: 4-6 wrong
Writing: 1-3 wrong, 10-12 essay

@TheNexus
I would guess
Math:720-750
Reading:680-710
Writing: 730-760

I say this because I had similar amounts of wrong answers in the May SAT and got scores in those ranges above.

@airplanes: That looks good enough for a 12, honestly. I really liked your examples.

@Nexus:

M: 720-760
W: 750-800
CR: 700-750

(used the Blue Book as a reference)

So the score will differ if you get the same raw score in a different month because of the curve?

M : 740-760 (2 omitted)
CR : 640-680
Writing : 720-760

about 2100

@26antara: Yep, the curve varies depending on the difficulty of the test (but it is pre-set based on experimental performance).
