Prom dress

i'm pretty sure there's some law against being naked in public

(or else more people would do it)

deus.ex.machina- yeah, that's true. But then the school would be denying the girl because of legal liability issues, which is a reasonable excuse. But it seemed like this school cared more about the 'moral' and 'decent' issues; that's why it bothered me so much.

SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE, DAMMIT!

:D

haha, morality is not neccessarily soley owned by churches. there are certain people i really would rather not see naked.

Indecent exposure, jimmyeatworld? But if at prom, it wouldn't really be in the public.
I don't know but imagine a parent taking those proud pre-prom photographs and the daughter is wearing that? eeesh

I'm pretty sure that dress is just plain FUGLY.

But come on now, we can't deny that the infamous Versace dress was hot.

the versace dress was considered hot because the person in the dress was hot. now, there's no one to bar someone not quite up to that caliber to buy the dress and display their goods at prom, whether others would like to view the merchandise or not.

as for pre-prom pictures, they will pale in comparison to the flashbulbs that will immortalize the dress when that thing falls off in the middle of the slow dance.

OMG, there are so many pretty prom dresses out there--why does anyone HAVE chose this ugly, stupid one?!?!! geez... If someone wore a dress like that to school, what would the parents say? "You are supposed to protect our children! How can you let one of your own students wear something so disrespectful?" What's the school supposed to say? "Well, um...you see....uh..." heh

You really have to have the right body for that dress. It would look hideous on over 90% of girls.

that dress is soooo.... bleh I saw that in the seventeen Prom mag. and i was rather disgusted. The skirt is long, but omg, w-t-f, and all other appalled superlatives. Actually, at my prom last year (jr. year) some girls in my class wore, uh, things from Victoria's secret. They had on like, hot shorts that went up the 455 crack and skanky tiny bras with a stretchy lace "dress" over the top that was boat necked, long sleeved, and the skirt (if you'd call it that) was just long enough to cover their behinds (although you could see them anyway b/c of their see-through Vicki's) that was appalling. Oh, and some had on cowboy hats to boot. that was just offensive.

...lol....

lol @ the pic

I actually think the Versace dress had a lot more class than this one. Anything with the cut-away effect is inherently awful.

90% of the girls? I don't know where you live, but in my mind it would be about 99.9% of girls.

lol, yeah. not even the model looks good in the dress.

I would consider myself a failure as a parent if my daughter ever decided to wear that...both in terms of endowing propriety/modesty and taste in clothing ;)

teenagers deserve tomake their own mistakes
that dress is just wrong

If teenagers were only allowed to make their own mistakes, we would live in an even sicker world. Many teenagers don't seem to be able to make good decisions. I blame their parents.

Actually, I've heard that what's shown as the front of the dress in the picture was really meant to be the back of the dress by the designer but some model wore it that way and somehow girls responded positively to the dress that way.

that's hilarious if it's true. my first reaction to that thing was "you've got to be kidding me, it looks like she put it on backwards"

^ Though if that's the dress, the intended front isn't much better.
