I am! Goshh I want someone to ask me soon!

I’m still uncertain as to when my boyfriend is coming back from college (like whether he’ll be here for prom or not) so yes. That would be unfortunate.

^^Just ask someone! Nbd

Don’t worry, there’s probably someone out there who wants to ask you but is too shy. Or ask someone yourself?

Don’t be that awkward person.

Better yet, don’t go to prom.

^Don’t be that person.

Why? It’s totally fun.

I never was… Which I found odd.

And I have a boyfriend this year, so I don’t have that problem… unless we break up… but I’m not gonna think about that.

I broke up with my boyfriend one week before prom my senior year. I took my younger sister to my prom and we had a blast! We went with two other girls too and I am telling you, it was the BEST way to go to prom.

Yup I’m worried :)

At this point I’m trying to decide between a) going alone, or b) not going. On the one hand, I don’t want to miss this supposed landmark event, and all my friends are going to be in a group anyway, but on the other hand, why pay ~$500 to be reminded of how lonely and sad my life is.

Meh…going with friends. :]

Don’t worry, you probably won’t be asked out.

Prom is a bunch of highschool BS, I’m not going. **** my HS and everyone in it. I’m not going to the graduation ceremony either, gonna get my degree and get OUT.

Oh wow I had no idea so many people would reply to this! I’m a girl so I can’t really ask the guy. If it gets really late, I’ll probably just ask a guy who goes to another school. Unfortunately, two guys who I would consider asking myself who aren’t from my school go to a school that has prom on the same night.

Girls can ask guys.

No, they can’t. Unless they want to be deemed social pariahs.

^That’s BS. You can so ask a guy.

In the event that no one asks me, I am taking my best guy friend as my date.

In terms of college admissions.
No guy wants a girl that is a match or a safety. All dudes want reaches, and unless its a reach, ■■■■.

In a nutshell, I wouldn’t want to go to prom with any girl that would ask me out.

LOL I feel to an extent it’s the same for girls too. A lot of girls have been asked already by their “safeties” and don’t know what to say because they want to hold out for their “reaches”. Unfortunately, there’s no common “reply back” date for prom dates like there is for colleges :P.

Because of that metaphor, I understand.

Why are you spending $500 on prom??? I spent like $60 on my dress tops the past two years. Actually, I think last year it was like thirty. And then I paid for dinner… So it was less than $80, because we don’t have to buy tickets.
