Proof of Citizenship?

I recieved letters from various college stating that they cannot construct a financial aid package for me because they can't prove my citizenship using my social security number (I'm a neutralized citizen). How can I prove my citizenship since never took the time to apply for a passport? What documents can I give them?

I know that lots of info is stored in the SS, so how can I update my social security to show that I am a citizen?

Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated!

First of all, I think the term you are looking for is "naturalized' not "neutralized" lol.

anyway, I think they can verify by tax receipts or some similar federal form. did you get some sort of certificate upon naturalization?

It depends whether you are a base or an acid. Well, honestly, I think you should ask the colleges; only they know what they really want.

referring to post#2, yes I was awarded a certificate but they didn't accept it for some reason (?)

Have you filed the FAFSA? Did your SSN work there?

A certificate of naturalization is a valid proof of citizenship. In fact, you need one to get your US passport.

Maybe their problem is not they they don't believe him that he is a citizen but that they need a working SSN to construct his fin aid package (federal aid, ...). In that case, a certificate of naturalization would not help the colleges at all.
