Hey guys, I'm a student in high school and I've got an important question regarding what major I need to choose. I decided that it's my dream to be a creative director for an advertising agency, but I have a few questions. What would be the best major to get for this job? I was thinking marketing but I'm not sure. I'm planning on moving to NYC for college. So basically what major/minors should I be going for? I want to be on the creative side of an ad agency, starting out making copy, etc. What do you guys think?

A Marketing major would be fantastic as one would need knowledge of the market they are trying to advertise for. But also one should have some artistic skill. If there is a graphic design minor, I’d go for it. But a lot of graphic design is learned outside of school, like many art forms, and you could probably learn this in your free time instead.

Marketing involves a lot of psychology as well. Behavioral economics sounds reasonable for this type of career, and a marketing minor or any form of combo.
