Props

As the father of a senior knee deep in application season, I wanted to give MIT admissions some well-deserved credit. We have flown around the country, sat through endless info sessions, walked campuses like we were prepping for a marathon, and listened to countless perky, backwards-walking student hosts. We have sacrificed ourselves as beta testers of the "new and improved" common app and been at the whim of its devil-spawn Naviance. As I look back at it all though, MIT stands above. The visit was well planned, our presentations spot on, and the tour actually useful. The presentation we attended in Chicago was chock full of info and the presenter was a pro. The application is straightforward. The interview process was simple, and the interviewer made my son feel like the weight of the world had been lifted off his shoulders. The MIT admissions process is wide open, with the website and the blogs giving us more info than we could ever hope for. We had to make some inquiries to the admissions office, and we got polite answers quickly(take note Stanford admissions!). Even the presence here on CC is unique. So, I just want to thank you for a job well done. Whether you are aware of it or not, you stand out in the land of admissions!

thank you!
