Hey guys! So in this admission cycle, I was accepted into peddie! But before I can make a decision, whether or not to enter peddie, I was wondering if anyone here, can provide me some insight about peddie as stated in the title of the thread! Your answers will be of much help!

Answers can vary from anything such as dorm life, curriculum, classes, students and many more!

Thank you! :)

What other schools accepted you?

I got accepted to Peddie too, but I don’t think I’ll be going. It’s a very, very nice school, don’t get me wrong. The atmosphere seems to be very welcoming and kind, which is nice compared to many boarding schools. By all means, it is a great school.
I also got accepted to L’ville, which is a bit better for me academically. While I’m unsure about the atmosphere at L’ville, the house system, academics, interesting athletics (ice hockey and fencing?? cool), and commitment to community service drew me in there. Peddie just wasn’t as nice, in all honestly. The campus is nice at Peddie, but I just find that L’ville’s is nicer.
Though, if it is your only option, then certainly it is a fantastic school, and is much better than a lot of schools.

I knew this school best many moons ago, so I’ll not jump into this too far. It’s a great school, certainly. Do you r own homework and get there on campus if you can, besides revisit, to maybe see a sports game or some other “public” event. Soak up the vibe that way. If you cannot do that, check out as much online as you can, like videos, etc. One of the better features of the school’s online presence is “Peddie Voices”, which is mostly Chapel talks that are archived on a blog format. I remember so many excellent, veteran teachers at Peddie who are still there, such as Pat Clements. However, one of the younger stars is Matthew Roach. Below is a link to one of his several good talks to the school community, and it reflects the thoughtfulness that I think you will see in other “voices” at Peddie, too. Another talk is titled, “Freaking Out with Mr. Roach”; check that one out for an interpretation of what makes the school so special for him. One of my former students is finishing her first year at Peddie, and I’m told that she has liked it very much. (As to the post above, there is a lot of rivalry with Lawrenceville; they really are two very different schools in the details, and those with a choice naturally need to consider which is the better fit for them as individuals.)
