Pros & Cons of Centre College --

<p>I have been mulling over many different colleges in the recent weeks. I will be a senior in highschool after this summer - and therefore, truly need to buckle down. I live near Louisville Kentucky, and will be majoring in creative writing - so that I may pursue a career in writing, - screenwriting particularly. If I could afford to go to college out of state, I would apply to UCLA, USC, or possibly NYU - but, I can't unless I recieved something like a partial scholarship.</p>

<p>Has anyone on the site been to Centre College in Danville Kentucky, and if so - what would be some important things for me to consider regarding the college?</p>

<p>I really appreciate your help and support :) Like everyone else on the site, I'm just trying to make the best decision that I can about my future, and college is a very large part of that for me.</p>

<p>You’ll probably get more responses if you post this on the Parents forum - more of us are familiar with Centre. My daughter and I toured Centre, but she ultimately decided not to apply. Centre offers excellent opportunities to its students, with the bonus of good merit scholarships. Unfortunately, you just missed the deadline for the Centre Fellows Scholarship, which is worth $12,500 per year to high school juniors who are in the top 5% of their class.</p>
