I'm still in HS, so an immediate decission isnt necessary, but i'm considering majoring in [a] language[s]. Namely CHinese, Japanese, AND korean (korean would be an associates degree at a community college).

My question is, if you major in a language, what type of jobs are you going to be aiming for?

I'd like something that enables me to work amongst these countries and America. Also, something that pays decently.
I have been considering business [accounting could get me a consulting job], but it seems like business may not enable me to make business trips as often as I'd perhaps like to.
What about tourism business?

Do you know any other majors that could be paired with a language major/minor and lead to a good career?

With language majors, especially in difficult Asian ones, you won’t reach fluency. In fact, you’ll be lucky to reach a solid intermediate level. So you won’t be able to do much with those skills unless you study outside of school as well (in the summer, on breaks), and study abroad. Then you could perhaps actually be able to speak the language. Which in that case I would recommend double major in something like international business.

If you do reach a high level of proficiency, teaching that language is one route you could go, although I don’t think it has the pay you are looking for. Any company that conducts business with the regions that speak those languages might have an interest in you, but I could be wrong. Like the person before me said, your marketability would be greatly increase with an additional degree in some type of business degree (international or not).
