If you're curious, here are the courses we may be choosing from next year. Obviously, this list is provisional.

For fall quarter, the last two appeal to me the most
For winter/spring, I find #4,5,6,8 to be the most enticing of the options

…And so, the plague of indecisiveness is born.

I liked “Sustainability and Collapse” for the fall. I’ll probably take “Human History: A Global Approach,” “World Archaeology and Global Heritage,” or “Making of the Modern World” in the winter/spring.

I’m taking WAGH right now. I’d say it’s one of the easiest (if not the easiest) Winter/Spring IHUM. Not that much reading, and you only need to skim them for main ideas anyway (only needing to read deeper when using a couple articles in essays). Winter quarter our first paper was about why Stanford should be a world heritage site. Our second paper was about a field trip we took to visit the King Tut exhibit at the De Young Museum in San Fran. The final (30% of grade) was a complete joke. It was reallyyyyyyy easy. The average ended up being around 92%. I studied way too much for that thing (and I only studied the day of the exam)…I left it feeling like I got a 100. Spring quarter we have 2 papers and 1 group project as our final. If you want a more detailed description of what exactly we studied just let me know and I’ll write another post.

I’ve heard people don’t like Human History (which was originally my number 1 choice…WAGH was my 3rd choice), you might want to read the reviews on courserank if you have access to it yet.

Wow there are 2-3 techie IHUMs in the fall next year. This year we didn’t have any. I’m envious of you guys =]

I did flip through courserank. I’m not a techie but the techier IHUMs look more interesting (for autumn, anyway).

Sustainability and Collapse looks interesting

i dont really like the choices for Winter/Spring quarters but world archeology/global heritage would prolly b my first choice

@llpitch: it is usually difficult to get your first choice for the IHUMs?

No, but this year Human History was a popular option for everyone so some people who put that as their first option got stuck with their second option. My 2nd option was Making of the Modern World but I realized I had to switch out of it due to a scheduling conflict.
