The new playstation comes out tommorow, and for the last two (entire) days my boss has been rotating spots with his wife (she sits in it while he's at work, and he sleeps in it through the night!!) in a chair at Wal-mart (one of 10) so he can be guaranteed one of the new systems.

The news even showed people camping out for the past 2 days in anticipation of the PS3 rollout. I'm amuzed.

I find it rather amusing to see people line up to spend $600+ each for a gaming console. Although I must admit...I want one too!! >< But it's just not practical for me at the moment. -- Maybe next year. The PS3, however, is in no doubt one of the most-wanted things for the X-mas season.

I won't be getting one... I had all 3 consoles last time and tbh I didn't have enough time to play all the good games (my poor PS2 alone has 22 unfinished games, and that's before I even think about my Cube or Xbox).
Ebay prices are just dumb at console launches, anyone who pays them really needs to get their head checked, especially for a Sony console. Early-run Sony consoles are notoriously unreliable - so much so that we don't take any pre-2003 PS2s as trade-ins in the game shop where I work. We also had a 28% return rate on PSPs within 6 months of purchase. And people are talking about dropping thousands of dollars on a PS3 on Ebay? boggle

This gen, Nintendo Wii and a badass PC for me.

so true rainbow kirby
after careful consideration, im getting a new pc instead of a console
i mean 70 dollar games? AND other contents you must buy from online?

Genji? Untold Legends?!? ***?
Crappy 360 ports? (just read some reviews @ gamespot.com for more proof)
Waiting in the cold for 3 days? Riots? Muggings? Shootings? $600? <150K?
Older HDTV's not actually displaying HD?
If you MUST have a FPS, then I guess the PS3 is a bit worth it. A BIT.
If not, then it's the biggest waste of time and money out there.

Wow, that's amazing...it makes me wonder if the article isn't a spoof, in the style of The Onion?

In case you don't follow baseball, Epstein's Red Sox just spent a ridiculous $50 million just for the rights to negotiate with Japan's Daisuke Matsuzaka. Even in the modern era of overpaid big-money baseball, $50 million just to negotiate for a player (and keep him away from the Yankees) is insane...

consoles will always have better graphics compared to computers and be able to handle games better, positive yes, but the gameplay on controllers is nothing like a mouse
