PSAT '09 Form W Thread

It was limited because it failed to take into account people moving from reading books to reading magazines and on the internet.

as to speak in place of literally rite?

no i’m fairly positive he was describing the survey’s limitations

basically the entire point of his whole passage was to say that “yes, this report has these statistics, but these numbers don’t necessarily prove anything about america since for all you know, people can be reading the internet and magazines etc etc”

Ben,
that would mean that the answer is limitations, since you said that the study was accurate in what it was intended to find, but due to the limitations of the study, it is flawed regarding literary trends.

CONTINUING COMPILATION OF CR

If you don’t agree with them and have a reason why, please point it out. Add on to it if you remember more questions or a closer wording! And if anyone would start a math and writing compilation, that would be great!

limitations of study and disputing statistics?

“Avert…break up”

What was the question for this one?

@blake93
I used Barron’s (which you can find here [Amazon.com: Barron’s PSAT/NMSQT (Barron’s How to Prepare for the Psat Nmsqt Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) (9780764138690): Sharon Weiner Green M.A., Ira K. Wolf Ph.D.: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Preliminary-Scholastic-Aptitude-Scholarship-Qualifying/dp/0764138693/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1255562821&sr=8-1) )
but that was because it was the only one at my bookstore.

Actually was to show incredulity (closer wording?)
Hari’s reaction was stunned? (UNSURE)

^ Weren’t those part of the same question… I’m getting things mixed up. Could someone post the 2 questions for those?

“This forum requires that you wait 60 seconds between posts. Please try again in 1 seconds.” Lol…

It was the thief one

UGH i did so awful on this exam…

critical reading was ok, minus vocab

math killed me. lmao my PSAT score declined between freshman and sophomore year. i predict this year’s results will confirm this downward trend.

ON the “actually” question, what were the choices?

IDGI… what’s the difference between prepping for the PSATs and the SATs minus like… the extra essay prep for SAT?

i’ve been prepping for SAT only… and figured i needn’t do anything extra for PSAT.

notajingoist; what did you get on the PSAT your freshman year

I think it was limitations of study

“Hari’s reaction was stunned”
That is definitely correct because it says he was speechless, which implies that he was stunned (at least, that’s what I think).

"Female Renaissance:
made records easier to find
show variety of art done by women "

Those are both right, I think. I was iffy on the first one, but eh. And the second is definitely correct, the sentence said something like “Female artists did everything from small candles to large altarpieces” (that’s probably not exactly it) and that shows the wide variety.

@notajingoist

It’s probably fine, maybe even more beneficial, to just study SAT, but I’d like to get at least one PSAT book, just for practice even if I don’t really get anything else out of it.

chocobok…for the TV one, “subtle changes,” I thought in the passage he called them obvious, so I put something about them not being as profound? lol idk

pc101795 - 192 freshman year

Out of curiosity, what did everyone score previously?
I scored a 208 as a sophomore, which I realize now isn’t that impressive. I was happy with it though. It’s not looking so good for me this year though :(
