anyone remembers the triangle question if the p=8, then the middle leg’s max value or something? wat was the ans?

^ it’s alarmist because the reading report is “exaggerating a danger and so causing needless worry”
author of passage 2 thought the whole study was just making an overly dramatic fuss, and the report’s last two sentences basically did that.

hey
what was the actual question for the ‘emote’ one?

can someone say the question for the dependent and at/in center of

I am 99% sure the answer is alarmist. Passage 2 continually criticized the skewed nature of Passage 1, and in the last paragraph wrote the study off as nothing to worry about.

arashi1 lmao i randomly put 3 for the perimeter 8 triangle
yet i have no reasoning for that

what was the one where the circle had an X in it, and the opposite sides were averaged… what was the angle measure of X?

What was the question for the one about women and sculpting?

It was 3 because the most it could’ve been was 2-3-3 (2+3>5)
if it was 4, it would’ve been 0-4-4 (not a triangle)

It was something like (the wordings off):

Because he emotes exceedingly while acting, the actor’s actions were decidedly histrionic.

the at/in center of was like…

ppl suggested to build the capitol at the center of washington d.c. blahhhh

i was gonna do no error
but seeing as i had already put so many, i just chose “at the center” since i thought it’d sound better with “in the center”
but then again that seems like a petty mistake

@ RAlec

x = 60

was the answer 3 for the triangle perimeter question?

Yes ^
10 char

Umm… What was the triangle perimeter question? I clearly have a bad memory, lol.

I’m fairly certain I put 3 for the triangle perimeter question.

For the circle divided into 4 sections question, I also put 60.

That’s because the 2 unshaded regions would be 60

60 + 60 =120

meaning the 2 shaded together would be 240, and I’m assuming that would mean each region is 120. Their average would be 120+120 = 240, 240/2 = 120

120=120

So yeah, that’s why I put that.

wait,
i got x=45 for the circle one

wasnt it somethign like a=2b (where a is unshaded area and b is shaded area)
and a+2b=180 => 4b=180 => b= 45

Wait, just a quick question, I just read the post at the top of this forum that says the CB can… do something… if you’re discussing the test. Does that actually happen? Wouldn’t want to have my score canceled simply for discussing it.

So I just calculated my score using the conversion tables in the Practice Test, and they seem wayyyyy too forgiving. They’re putting me in the high 200s and that doesn’t seem right. Plus, the actual PSAT was much harder than the practice test (or so I hear, I didn’t do all of the Practice Test). Darn you college board, why won’t you give us the scale?!

well if it’s harder the curve will be better

@hosain
I thought the question said that the sum of the unshaded regions was the same as the average of the shaded regions.
