<p>There is a sequence. You must first be designated a semifinalist (August/September) and then apply for finalist status and if you attain that, you will be given the opportunity to select schools. That isn't until next spring.</p>

<p>No, not based on Commended Status. However, many schools do have merit money based on SAT scores. Check out U of Miami and Wake Forest to get an idea of what is out there. If you look on the admissions pages of the websites and check out scholarship links you can find the information.</p>
