PSAT 2011 Saturday General Discussion

I was in a rush so i thought it was a 30 60 90. Wow!

anyone get something like incompatible with romanticizing views?

30 because the diameter was 12 and PT (or whatever that length on the diameter was called) was 10. Thus, the radius of the circle/height of the triangle would be 6. 6x10=60. Half of that is 30, or the area of the triangle.

Daniel, i got that answer too!!

@chewydog, do you think 2 wrong on math will be above 74?

for one of the last math question ,asking for smallest integer that makes mean and median the same, what was the set of numbers? 445567 or 455667?

The second option i think

^
What was the correct answer to that question?

I got 2 as my answer

made a stupid mistake, but should be 2

I got 2 also

I’m looking at the practice test they gave us and here’s what it says (I cut off when the scaled points begin decreasing by 1):
CR: 80, 80, 77, 76, 74, 72, 70, 69, 68, 67…and so on
M: 80, 79, 75, 73, 71, 70, 68, 67, 65…and so on
W: 80, 78, 73, 72, 70, 68, 65, 63…and so on (sporadic drops by 2 but not too many)

Those scaled scores are very similar to the ones in the practice test for 2010, except the drop between a perfect and one wrong in the 2010 practice test is 80 -> 77. Assuming that math was quite easy on this year’s official PSAT in comparison to other practice and official tests, I’d estimate that you’d get around a 74 tops with 2 wrong.

Did you guys get a lot of no errors?

^
Yes, quite a few no errors. I felt that the sentence completions were pretty easy. What was the one in in the math section that asked for f(x) and where it was 0 or something.

I got 5 I think. Compared to wednesday, that’s alot.

i think 2 for that one

Vocab was iffy. I was a little shaken by the one about the people that got criticized (section 3). I believe that the correct answer was excoriated which means “Censure or criticize severely”

The question asked you to identify the zeroes between [-3,3]. There were 2.

Yeah chewy the answer was excoriate.

what were the other choices for the question with excoriate?
