Basically, this is just like last years thread. Discuss anything general (i.e. feelings, the score/range you hope for, practice test scores, curves, etc.) related to the Wednesday 2010 PSAT here. Ahhh, the test is tomorrow. I'm so nervous! We can talk about what we thought about the test afterwords.

I’m aiming for a 230+. I’m a junior, and this is when my scores count.

My last three scores on official PSATs were 237 (fluke?), 226, and 228.

The suspense is killing me, but I’m praying for no oddball CR, M, or W questions.

What grade level must you be in to qualify for National Merit?

My friend, because of special circumstances, took it today. He said there was one goofball W question, and a hard math question, and some difficult vocab (some of the words even I didn’t know, and I almost always get all the SC correct).

11th grade.

Did he tell you which form he had? There is a Form W, a Form S … and a Form A.

If he had Form A then what showed up on his test is irrelevant. Now, if he had Form W … …

He didn’t tell me which form. I would imagine it was whatever they give to kids who take it prior the actual testing date.

It’s worth asking, if at all possible.

He’s not on facebook… but I’ll check again later

I’m PRAYING for a relatively simple writing section. That would basically guarantee my NMSF status… not because I perform extraordinarily well, but because my state cutoff’s a bit on the lower end.

@ IceQube, How the hell did you get your math score to get so high…I’m stuck in the high 50’s low 60’s. Could you tell we what you did to increase your math scores?

If I can do well on the math (my weak point) I should be able to meet my state’s cutoff. Anyone else doing the Official Student Guide to the PSAT/NMSQT?

It has a practice test which I am going to take in a few minutes but hopefully the rest of my SAT prep will help me. Good luck everyone!

^ could you somehow give me the math part to that guide…because I did’t get it form my school.

The “guide” is typical of College Board “guides” - watered down advice that scrapes the surface of what you have to know. The only part that’s worth it is the practice test.

In any case, I improved all my scores through practice and sleep. I’m going to sleep extra early tonight :)!

Has anyone used the Princeton Review or Barron’s. Did anyone think these were particularly helpful-especially the hit parade from princeton review and the high frequency word list from Barron’s.?

^I think that a combination of DH and RR is what is going to help you the most in terms of vocabulary.

What’s DH and RR

Lol wondering if I should cram for the test tomorrow.

Direct Hits and Rocket Review

Is anyone else still up and cramming for the exam tomorrow?
