PSAT 2011 Saturday General Discussion

So far, I have only gotten one wrong on the reading… =_= and it was the wry one. I put bitter resentment.

4 wrong on math…

 1. (-3,3)
 2. number 38
 3. Left one blank accidently
 4. That M, k one or whatever

I really hate the psat/sat math sections… I sometimes question why I’m in calc when I make silly mistakes.

What do you guys think about the writing section? I thought some of it was tricky.

If you get 8 out of 48 questions wrong, assuming you answered all of them, your raw score will be 48-8-2=38.
It’s an additional .25 point off for a missed question, plus the 1 point you miss for not getting the right answer.

Ahh i see, that clears it up.

Hm, so based off that, if I answered every single question and got every single question wrong, and there’s 48 CR questions total, would my raw score be -12?

Does anyone know the answer to my question on p. 42??
I need clarification.

China, if you’re referring to the question about the literary device both authors used, it was analogy.

Thanks shyroo,

No problem.

Approximately what score would 4 wrong be, for math?

HEy for the last Math grid in the answer was 9 right?

What was the question?

Does anyone remember the answer to the question on the CR that was about finding a way to completely eradicate a virus, and not just ___ its effects?

Shyroo: That was mitigate.

Thank you!

why is the writing one with the horse no error?

In the CR section was the question about the library books ‘gratuitous’?

Sent from my SPH-M580 using CC App

I really hope I wasn’t overthinking when I secondguessed rueful confession over wry disapproval.

Rueful was the only adjective which I found fit. Confession also means acknowledging.

I’m sorry but you were over thinking it. Some words have two meanings and college board makes it ambiguous, but with confession they would use the more known definition. Also, wry disapproval fits perfectly, and it’s been explained why already.

Can anyone clarify the horse question on the writing section? No error? Thanks in advance!

Guys i still dont get the problem with 99 adults and 1 child. I got 50 adults needed for 2% of population to be children. Then i subtracted that from 90 and got 49 since it asked how many adults need to leave… please help!:)
