PSAT 2011 Saturday General Discussion

I agree! please!

At my younger sister’s school on Friday, they told her that the guidance office is not yet done sorting PSAT score reports, but she can call the National Merit phone number to obtain her score by phone in the meantime. This is what she did:

Call the National Merit Scholarship Corporation at (847) 866-5100. They are only available 8:30pm-4:30pm CT, Monday-Friday.

When an operator answers the phone (or you can just push “0”), state that you would like to access your 2011 PSAT score.

You will be asked to provide information from boxes #1-6 from your PSAT answer sheets:

1) You must spell your name, letter-by-letter (last name, followed by first name, followed by middle initial).
2) Gender
3) Grade Level
4) Birth Date
5) Social Security Number (if known) – I’m not sure how they proceed if you don’t know your SS Number or did not fill it out on the PSAT answer sheet. In that case, I think you would be asked for more identifying information after step 6, such as your address, in order to match it with the address you filled out on your PSAT answer sheet. My sister knew her SS Number (which she filled out on the PSAT answer sheet), so I’m not positive
6) School Code and/or School Name/Address

That’s pretty much it! My sister got a 205, which I think is NM Semifinalist in our state. Good luck, everyone!

OMG. Thank you SO SO SO SOOOO MUCH!!!

Thank you so much for the valuable information!!!

@pinkbrown: did you sister take the PSAT on wednesday or saturday?

Any idea when they come in the mail? I didn’t give my SS so I don’t think I can call.

^ they never come in the mail xD you have to get it from your school counselor. I didn’t put my SS number either and I don’t know it, but I’ll try calling tomorrow anyway

^^^ they definitely do come in the mail. I still have my results from last year as evidence.

college board doesn’t mail them out. i’ve heard sometimes schools mail them i guess, but almost always the counselors pass them out in class. unless you’re homeschooled or something, maybe then college board will mail it?

@premed4: Your school probably mailed the results to you.

I didn’t put my SS either, i hope it still works :x especially for the saturday people D:

I called College Board, after I had called National Merit Scholarship Corporation, and they said that they could not tell me my PSAT score, and the PSAT results HAVE NOT been sent out yet. They will be sent out early this week.

Do Not Call National Merits or College Board, as you would be wasting your time. We all just have to wait patiently until the scores come.

There is a thread regarding how a highschool counselor received the results last Friday.

okay I called CB again just to see if they could tell me my PSAT score, and the guy said that they WERE sent out LAST week, and schools should be getting them sometime this week probably today or tommorow.
So the information the lady told me when I called in the morning was wrong. Sorry to misinform all of you.

Okay, so I’m at school right now (lunch) and I really want to know my PSAT score. DO I just run to the counselor and ask?

Lunch ends in 15 minutes so help me!

Sigh…the phone idea didn’t work for me. The lady said that the scores would be sent out to the schools. She told me that I “just have to wait patiently”.
I have to wait another 2 weeks…■■■.

I guess the phone method was a fraud.

I attempted to call and the receptionist identified this as
“misinformation circulating around the internet” and that we’ll have to wait.

Well played pinkbrown, well played.

My school hasn’t received anything yet, but the counselors are expecting the results “very soon.”

I called our school and learned that they received an email from CB that said CB mailed the PSAT scores. They will get it in a couple of days
