What did the Uhmma want her sons to achieve?

^using their intellect

For the Uhmma question, I chose the one that said for them to use their intellect in their work, something along those lines

She didn’t want them to work hard as she did, she wanted them to have pencil/paper jobs so they could use their intellect

@Danielle podam. It hit me a second ago. There goes my happy 80 on the math section.

Excellent. I did fairly well on CR then. (hopefully)

So far, 3 wrong on math (really stupid mistakes/ didn’t read question properly)

1 wrong on writing (where should sentence be placed… I put 8, it was 5? )

i am stressing out so much. CR will definitely make me miss NMSF.

The passage about privacy… One of the questions asked what both passage believe should be used to protect privacy. Two of the options were: 1) government regulations 2) technological advances. What did you all put for that one? I thought that that passage was the hardest one. …

What about the one asking for the definition of tender (in the Uhmma story)? I put soft because I didn’t think any of the other choices fit.

I really enjoyed reading that passage, by the way. It was quite well written and very touching.

yess!! I agree kestrel24.

@kestrel24, indeed, it was soft. that was my favorite passage as well, it was a very easy read and very touching.

kestrel i put soft.

danielle i remember that, but i think the answer was something else

and for the privacy, was the last one like keeping privacy but not giving up services or something?

In response to post 109, I don’t think the answer was government regulations… didn’t the first one passage say that the government didn’t matter?

In response to post 110, I put soft for tender. Uhmma worked hard so her hands were rough… and the kids just had to study (like good little asians) so they didn’t have rough hands. Therefore, the hands were soft.

post 113: Yeah, I put that too.

Anyone remember any tricky writing questions? I remember something with a car…
Can run vs runs… I put runs.

In the writing section about the horse being able to run as fast as the other animals. For me it was between “achieve it” and no error what did you guys put?

Yeah i put technological advances not governmental regulations. Is that the answer?

I put “achieve it”, it didn’t sound right. I may be wrong though

^^
I said that “achieve it” was an error… I thought it should be “do so”

@nano i put ‘achieve it’ because it was an unclear pronoun? i’m not 100% sure though if it’s right

nano: arg that one was hard. I put no error – achieve it sounds kind of strange, but I don’t think it’s wrong.
