PSAT 2012 test scores received

Since scores should start rolling in this week, I figured I'd start a new thread for posting when you got your scores & the state you are in. When you get your scores, please post the date, the state you are in, and anything special that will give everyone an idea of how the process works in various schools. We homeschool in Georgia so my daughter's scores will come straight to our home; I hope they'll be here by the end of the week (based on our experiences with the PSAT for the last 3 years).

Today when I logged into my DD’s collegeboard account there appeared a new box that said something along the lines of “insert the code from your 2012 PSAT-Your counselors have the score report and will be giving it to you” . To me this indicates that 2012 PSAT score reports have been released. Since my daughter is in the running for NRHP I guess we will just have to bug her counselor to learn the score. I was hoping Collegeboard would automatically add the 2012 score to her account but it looks like they want the “code” first. The box was not on her page yesterday so we at least know the scores are out.

Good luck to everyone.

This is always my favorite thread of the year, where parents and kids try to thwart school officials who refuse to release information. Good luck, everyone!

Yes, this is frustrating… The score will eventually appear (without the code needed) in mid January, but by then most students will have received their paper score from school, thus also getting their access code… chicken, egg, anxiety & patience taxing!

My son just texted me from school and he got a 226…

Congrats, disney! What state are you in?

NJ…The highest cutoff I’ve seen in recent years is 223, and recently it was 221, so let’s hope he is a semi-finalist…Thanks!

So our counselors have the scores already?

Some schools may have scores. It is strange that only one person has posted a score.

My school is releasing the scores sometime next week (tuesday, I think…). It’s going to be hard to wait that long, but it’s better than getting it late January like what happened last year (when I was a sophomore). Also, hopefully some people who get their scores back can help the rest of us piece together how we did.

If someone who has scores back sees this, how many questions did you miss and what score did that give you on each section?

Actually, another person (who posted in a separate topic) also got their scores, so that makes 2 people who received scores so far…

what state r u guys in? I’m more west than NJ(Cali) and still havent gotten my test scores yet

I got mine back. 221. The cut-off for my area is a 223, so I’m actually not too pleased.

I took the SAT a month later and got 90 points higher than the PSAT equivalent, so IDK how accurate the PSAT is.

edit: Also, I live in MA.

If you email the guidance counselor, they will release them to you! Or they SHOULD release them. I can’t see why they would want to hold them hostage.

Phlogiston,

It was the same for my DS. 226 on the PSAT and then 2360 on the 11/3 SAT…

Anyone from CT and got their scores back?

I believe D’s school has them, but they don’t distribute until next Tuesday. We are in Ohio.

Someone from the other thread posted and is from CT…

No scores today in Texas. :-(
