PSAT 2012 test scores received

I got my access code, finally! My school still hasn’t released our scores. I really don’t understand why they hold them so long.

Collegeboard emailed my access code to me today.

223-CT

Yea boiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.
Getting me dat $2500.

Well, Collegeboard emailed my daughter her access code today.

71 in CR was 4 wrong/0 omitted for Wed PSAT… (She also got same score 71 in CR for 2011 PSAT with 5 wrong!)

80 in Math & Writing :)

231 sure is nice for not sweating it out (plenty of other things to worry about!)

Went 196 sophomore year, 211 junior (this) year in DC. Watch out for idiotic mistakes in math…

217 here. 78 CR, 71 M, 68 W. Could’ve done better and should’ve done better, but didn’t. Oh well!

Went from a 149 sophomore year, to a 197 this year.

Not the best score, but im proud. And the funny thing is, i took the SAT the week before and got a 1960.

Still studying for that 2100! :D

I just realized that CB emailed out the access codes. So happy that I don’t have to wait on my school any longer.

My Score: 206 (71 CR, 69 M, 66 W)

I’m a Junior from CA, so I’m happy with my score. I knew I wouldn’t make NMSF/NMF since the cutoff is so high for CA and I wasn’t as prepared as I would have liked to be. I just wanted to make sure I got NM Commended and NHRP Scholar, and 206 means I’m pretty safe for both, yay. :)

In case anyone is curious, here are my other test scores:
Sophomore PSAT: 181 (58 CR, 61 M, 62 W)
^ I only took one practice test, so I had very little prep for this.

December SAT (Junior): 2180 (730 CR, 670 M, 780 W)
^ I did quite a bit of prep for this while prepping for the PSAT and afterwards I prepped for the SAT on its own at a prep class which I think helped for me. This was my first time taking the SAT, and I plan to take it at least one more time.

My junior D just got her scores from CB - 202. We’re in Nevada, the land of low scholastic expectations, so a 202 was good enough in 2010 for NMS semi-finalist, but no idea on what it will be this year.

@Collegiate Dreams-what’s an NHRP scholar?

Another question-when and how do juniors get notified on NMS semi-fnialist or comemndation?

Thanks, everyone for all the info!

Commended (and higher) in April, NMSF in September…

^thanks, rockfishdg!

Thanks for telling me to check my email! My school hasn’t even mentioned that they have the scores…
Massachusetts has the highest cutoff, right?
Two questions:

  1. What’s a reasonable guess for the MA cutoff this year?
  2. If you have the same score as the cutoff, are you in?
I’m happy with my score, but I’d be psyched if I made it to semis!

Also, did anyone else think the math curve was brutal? I was -3 and 71. Is that unreasonable? I was a bit too cocky, though, and my score is lower than sophomore year, though I’ve learned wayy more math.

Has everyone else been emailed their access code? I got the email today.
Sophomore:
CR: 64 M: 65 W: 68
=197
A little bummed out. I wanted to get into the 70s and break 200, gr. It doesn’t count till next year, and it’s not the SAT so it’s not bad for little prep.

8th grade:
CR: 54 M: 61 W: 50
=165

32 point increase over two years. Now, if I could get another jump like that for junior year…I wish!
