A very stupid question - I'm sure you guys are experts on this: What is the relation between psat and sat? Is PSAT easier? covers less? What is it anyway? when do you take it? does it have the same components - CR, Wrting, math - as sat? i'm not that far yet but really want to know. (I'm taking the sat though, with a talent search.) thanks all.

PSAT is a shorter test than the SAT, it also doesn’t test any Algebra II in the Math Section. Those are the main differences: however, due to the fact that the PSAT has fewer questions, the curves are generally worse than those on the SAT, and thus it is harder to get a good score in most cases.

If you do well on the PSAT, you will surely do well on the SAT as well (they both test Critical Reading, Critical Writing, and Math).

Thank you. That gives me some basic ideas. Do people study the same way as they study for SAT? For example, do people memorize the vocabs? (like those in “direct hit”)
