Go to http://www.collegeboard.com/prod_downloads/counselors/psat/Understanding-Scores-2004.pdf and see the curves and the conversions for the PSAT tests.

They're EXTREMELY HARSH. Hope that you didn't make too many careless mistakes. Good luck to everybody.

The math isn't...11 points off is still an 80 on Saturday!! But you're right, the reading is really bad.

ugh. that math curve's really gonna hurt

Luckyducky - to what are you referring? At the link above, one point off of the math is a 76 on Saturday.

wow I'm stupid....I was thinking it started at 48 like reading...

...and yet I still managed to get an 80 in math..?

I'm screwed. Really, I mean horribly screwed.
Careless and conceptual and stupid errors...oh my!
My hopes of being a semi are badly slammed. Perhaps I was commended....

Keep putting messages in the post so that people will see the curve on the front screen when they go to the test preperation section. Also, I noticed that this page has been getting a lot of views. Finally, no more curve speculation

I don't know why that link isn't working, but a working link is posted on the last page of the PSAT score thread. The page has the curves, percentiles, etc...

has the average gone down since last year

i remember 224 was 99+ last year now it's 223.
that could a good sign. i know it is based off a certain amount not percent but that is still good.

Bump. Just keepin this post on the front page so people can easily see how the PSAT curves were gotten. Oh, and by the way, only use the link at the top of the page. The link posted by RMac in the middle of the page doesn't work. Good luck to everybody! Hope we achieve the scores that we dreamed of.

How harsh that CR curve is for the SATurday PSAT!!!!
How can that be!!!?? The bulletin was so much easier and and a more lenient curve!!!

yea--when i was reading the post for the SAT Psat, i thought that your questions were a lot harder. i thought the wednesday sentence completions were really easy

Does anyone know when schools will start receiving the PSAT scores? Or have they already been sent to schools?

many people have recieved their scores
i assume that means that scores have been sent

the math curve is so harsh

bump->->^^
l l

This is off topic, but i just found out that i'm taking the PSAT next year as a junior on my birthday, Oct 12th. =/

WHy do you guys care bout PSAT results? just wonderin, cuz scholarship isn't even that much (Blaustein scholarship ?)

At some schools, particularly state schools, being a NM finalist can mean a full or near-full ride. At others it can mean a significant scholarship. The NM scholarship itself is not a lot, but it can mean a lot of money from the colleges.
