PSAT Cutoff Scores By Region

Does anyone have the PSAT cutoff scores by region for last year… This year cutoff scores are not expected till Feb

Last year it seems that the for the West region (includes CA) it was 193 (Selection Index)

^For Class of 2018, the cutoffs were the 4-digit PSAT score, not the Selection Index.

Found this on the web
“To get your Selection Index score, you’d simply add your section scores together: 28 + 32 + 34 = 94. Then, you’d multiply the sum by 2 (94 * 2 = 188). This gives you a Selection Index score of 188.”

@“suhel d” For those who care not to calculate, the Selection Index is included in the actual PSAT score report.

But, as I noted above, the Selection Index is not relevant to NHRP. Your PSAT score is what will matter.

Either way what are the cutoffs ? do you know?

@“suhel d” No one knows the cutoffs and probably won’t know until spring. You can find a few anecdotes of students who scored at least as high, or higher, than the cutoff in this thread: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/hispanic-students/1962590-national-hispanic-recognition-program-class-of-2018-p1.html

Other than that, it is very hard to find any information on cutoffs. I saw a recent post on reddit where a current senior made last year’s PSAT cutoff for NHRP with a 1310 in CA.

Cutoff scores were released this morning. I called and for Texas, for the class of 2019, it is 1270.

I called
For California it is 1280
A little surprised it is so low…
Congrats to everyone who got in
