I have seen a lot of discussions about the PSAT and i am just wondering... what exactly is it? Is it just an SAT that holds National Merit Honors if you do well? And can you take it more than once? Im a sophomore so any help will be very useful for junior year!

Thanks!

The PSAT is a separate test from the SAT. Similar format, but shorter and with no essay. The PSAT is offered once a year in October, either on a Wednesday or a Saturday, depending on when your school chooses to offer it. Taking the PSAT in your junior year will automatically enter you into consideration for National Merit. For more information, go to the College Board website.
