Does anyone know what time on Monday will the results come out? Is it the usual SAT time (around 5AM est)? Our school is not uploading the scores to Naviance so a bit anxious here.
@chucko Last year my scores went up a bit before 7am. This seems to be the case for most SAT scores as well. They are never posted at midnight and usually sometime in the morning.
@Lindagaf - 1400 may be high enough for commended.
Congrats to your S
Thanks kimclan1
So…my child got one less than what the score was for our state last year. It rose last year. Any chance of these scores (SI) going down a point? or is that really grasping for hope???
@LvMyKids2 , your child is definitely still in the race. I read an analysis by Art over at Compass (I’m not allowed to link to the site) but they recently did an analysis. It’s likely some states will stay the same or go down (whereas this year saw almost all rises in scores). Good luck!
@kayak24 oh i hope it is true. I heard that the test in the reading writing was supposedly much harder. I know the curve shows this on the score conversions published by the CB. I appreciate the positivity…If only one more question was answered correctly, it would have gone up 1 point. Such is life. With my other kids, it wasn’t even close…
My D got her scores from counselor today. 1470 with SI of 221 should be semifinalist here in Kansas. She said she wasn’t as excited as she thought she’d be two years after setting this goal and finally achieving it. I said it would be better when it is official and she could share the news, but it for sure beats the alternative!
Check Naviance. Some PSAT scores came out today
@BertieMom That would be easy to breakdown for reference…740 EBRW and 730 Math for a 221. Congrats.
@moscott I had played with the numbers to get that breakdown too. A bit different than her Nov SAT which was 740 EBRW 760 Math. She was excited to finally have her math higher than her EBRW (or her English on ACT) because she will be applying for engineering programs.
She said there were some standard deviation questions which she had not seen on any practice tests and she had definitely not reviewed yet.
If I’m looking at the correct blog entry at Compass, Compass’s estimates for only a few low-population states went down, a few went up, and most stayed the same. My theory is that the test was harder, so the curve had to be dead on accurate or the cutoffs will go down.
Looking at the curves for the Wednesday administrations from 2016 and 2017, the curve is about the same and in some cases harsher for 2017. Yet, I’m told 2017 was harder, by my student who took both of these. I guess my money is still on cutoffs going down.
@evergreen5 Was that based on this test - 2017?
@sunnyschool The Compass blog? It’s dated yesterday on the topic of NM cutoffs for class of 2019. They are just Compass’ own guesses.
Do any homeschoolers get their scores this week? Asking because a few friends’ parents haven’t received them yet.
Thanks @evergreen5 .
Can anyone explain why Verbal is doubled for National Merit qualifying index?
everything is doubled for national merit… all 3
I’m confused b/c there’s Verbal + Math = Total
I don’t have the score report right here, but what are the 2 parts of Verbal? And to me, that is double Verbal + Math.
@sunnyschool , it’s technically reading + writing/language + math, all doubled. Something like that if you look at the breakdown on the score report.
