Hi CC World,
I am a current high school junior and the PSAT is rapidly approaching. As sad as it is, for the past few months I have been preparing for the exam by taking old PSATs. I had a couple questions. How much of a score difference is there between taking a test at home and the actual environment? I have been consistently scoring higher than the NMSQT cutoff for my state, Ohio, so should I be worried? Finally, do you guys have any suggestions on how to spend this last week before the exam? I'm very nervous yet confident in my abilities. Input would be appreciated

The PSAT at my school is administered at my school so the difference in environment is little to known. Generally, I think people perform better if they had a disciplined enviornment where they took tests at home. For instance, I take my PSAT at home in one go w/o breaks and I give myself less time than the actual PSAT requires. If I can finish the tests while keeping accuracy then I have nothing to worry about. Right? This is to counteract the adverse effects of the pressures of test day!

Your prep isnt sad its exactly what you should be doing. The environment isnt going to matter much.

Stress works both ways. It can heighten your intensity but too much can cause you to panic. Just relax and realize that the large majority of students do about as well on the test as they did in practice.
