What are your recommendations in regards to PSAT books (not software)?

I'm especially looking for books/websites with lots and lots of practice tests; I would prefer an answer key, although answer explanations are not strictly necessary. Anything that can be freely photocopied is a big plus.

Also, how well would you say the PSAT translates into the SAT? Can I use SAT prep materials for PSAT prep? I personally think the PSAT is easier, and yet it appears to be more difficult to score a 240 than a 2400.

Any advice or referrals at all would be super, super appreciated. :)

You can usually get one past year’s PSAT from your guidance conselour; and you can always buy them for $3 a piece.

schoolisfun - That sounds like an absolutely great idea, but is that different from the practice test that’s in the Official Student Guide?

^The $3 PSATs are a pretty good deal. You can get all of them given since the format change in 2004 (two PSATs/year, which means about 12 tests). Just note that you don’t get answer explanations with these, it is “answers only” like the Blue Book.

Wow. O.O fignewton…I so totally love you for that info. You have no idea how much you’ve just helped me.

where do i buy them for 3$ ? and will they come with answers

Could someone provide a link to where I might buy these old PSAT exams? I actually have the ones from the regular testing of the last 2 years, but I need the ones from before that.

[Product listing](<a href=“Store App”>Store App)

The answers/explanations and score conversion charts are free.

Thank you so much. :D

Any idea on any stores I can the released tests from Schoolisfun?

Actually, I just noticed that the CB search only brings up about 5-6 of the past tests. Where can I find the rest of the 12 administrations?

No, both the 2005 and the 2008 Administrations had “Alternate” PSATs on top of Wednesday and Saturday. So that would be 14 tests.

This year’s practice PSAT is the Wednesday 2008 test.

Oops, @Z.Exodus2008, you are right; it looks like the CB has run out of some of the older ones. But I count:

2006 1
2007 3
2008 2
2009 2

for a total of eight PSATs so that should get you pretty well started…
