psat prep vs. sat prep

obviously if able to get a perfect on the sat, one wouldn't need to worry too much about the psat.

BUT is/did anyone study differently for the sat and psat? i am really working toward national merit and am focusing on the psat. however, every sort of prep course/book/advice seems to be for the sat. although good for the future, i don't want to spend my time practicing timed essays and other sat-only areas quite yet.

any tips?

The PSAT is almost exactly the same as the SAT. The only differences are the PSAT is shorter and the PSAT doesn't have an essay. Just skip the essay part then when you are studying.

psat felt a little easier.
