Yes, this is an SAT forum, but I couldn't find a PSAT specific one. What's the best way to prep for the PSAT? I figure the PR book, plus I already have peterson's. IMO the best way to prep for a college board test is do practice tests, problem is there is only one test in peterson's and PR (though PR may have 2, idk). Would I be better off just purchasing the official SAT guide, considering the PSAT is the "easier version" of the SAT? Plus, if the problems are harder on practice tests, I'd be better off on the real thing. I know ppl say that prepping for the PSAT is a waste of time, but I wasn't quite satisfied with my soph yr score (w/o any prep) of 210. I know I'm fully capable of getting into the high 20s/30s with some prep. Thanks for your time.

Aside from math including some Algebra II, the essay, and the fact that the SAT is twice as long, I would say the SAT is equal in difficulty to the PSAT. (This is from personal experience). In fact, I would say the PSAT is harder because of the vicious penalty in getting only a few wrong.

Just buy the PR PSAT prep book(It helped me a lot, especially on the math) as well as some SAT books since you'll need to use them later on anyway.

if you were able to get a 210 in your sophmore year, than you probably don't need PSAT specific prep. Just study for the SAT (using the Blue Book) over the summer like any normal CC sophmore would. You'll see that by studying for the SAT , your PSAT score will also inevitably improve. I used this same method and went from a 205 to a 222...and never touched a psat book, just an SAT book (blue book). good luck

CR is the same difficulty on both

the blue SAT book-- the official one
