Last year I took the PSAT as a sophomore and scored a 217. (99th Percentile) I did SAT Prep over the summer and I predict an improvement of about five to ten points. I was wondering where that would place me in the National Merit Scholarships. Are the winners usually perfect 240's, or are they a little under? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Depending on which state... a 99th percentile will put you into the Semifinalist pool, I think 217 puts you in semis for Virginia (not quite sure check other threads) but as I was saying, once you are in semis, your score doesn't matter, then it's an overall evaluation of essays, ECs, transcript, etc... perfect doesn't gurantee anything...
