I think if you took it on Saturday, -1 is 75. But if you took it on Wednesday, -1 is a 76. However, that’s just conjecture.

Good job everyone! You all did so great. =) Do you think I have a chance with a 216 for NY? I’m really mad at myself because I made some really, really silly mistakes. I could’ve gotten a 2250+. :’(

-1 for Wednesday is 76. So studiousmaximus your probably right

I think NY cutoff will be around 219-220 this year

215 (80 M, 71 W, 64 CR)…

Down from a 220 (80 M, 71 W, 69 CR) last year as a sophomore. I felt confident that I would’ve gotten at least a 225 or 230, but the curve was shocking (as was my critical reading section). Of the 11 total questions I got wrong, 9 were on critical reading. I need vocabulary work, seeing as my poor vocabulary accounted for 6 of those 9 wrong. 2 wrong on writing sunk me to a 71… I really hoped to do better.

I will be on the edge of my state’s NMSF cutoff this year… It was 215 last year. Hopefully it doesn’t make a jump. It’s just a shame to see the decrease in my scores… I would like to think I’m making progress. At the least, I was the highest in my school for what I’m aware: it gives me a little bit of pride to hopelessly clench on to.

I just need to hit the actual SAT hard.

And for those wondering, I took Wednesday’s test.

If the cutoff for your state has been 209 most of the times and 210 only several times the past ten years or so, is it likely that the cutoff will be either 209 or 210 and not likely to increase to 211?

Do you guys think the cutoff scores will be raised or stay about the same, generally speaking?

After this past year, I’d say all bets are off. My state had been 215 for four of the previous five years. This past year, it jumped four points to 219. Several other states had big jumps as well.

NY is always the worst. Keeping my fingers crossed for a 225+!

I’m from NY too and I heard from a classmate that this year they’re lowering the standard to 215 to be a semifinalist. Is this true? If it is then I’d be so happy! I’m just on the border. :(

My school just passed out scores today and everyone is right, the curve for math and writing are all harsher than usual.

I got a 226.
CR: 80 (-1)
Math: 77 (-1)
Writing 69 (-2) (Compared to missing 4 in 2010 and getting a 71)

Oh well, not what I wanted, but at least it makes me feel better that my SAT CR score was probably a fluke.

189 - a 7 point increase over last year, which was a 2 point increase over the year before it WHAT UP.

But I have no intention of taking the SAT anyway, so none of this matters. ACT for life.

Freshman here. Just got score back:

CR 54, M 70, W 68
192 total

My CR score is disappointing. On the actual SAT, which I took for practice last year, I got a 590 on CR. Did I lose intelligence? ***? My parents are going to yell at me when they get home…

Do I have any hope of getting 2200 plus in junior year? No. :(

198
58 CR
80 Math
60 W
As you can probably tell, this type of lopp-sided score is really strange. What’s more is that last year my score was a 149.
I spent that entire year studying only math, and now I have 6 months to only study cr/w. Hoping to get a 2200+ on real sat, and I think I could :)

Junior here just got mine back two days ago
217
71 Reading -5 raw
77 Math -1 raw
69 Writing -3 raw

I’m from Missouri and last years cut off was 213 , before that 211 for the past few years, so I think I’m fine for SF. I looked at my national and state percentiles on college board’s site, and my reading dropped from 97 to 96; writing from 97 to 95, so that had me worried for a bit. But from my sophomore year each percentile dropped by over 5 from national to state. So I guess Missouri is dumber, or at least I hope. Still got 99th nationally. I took it on Wednesday. As a sophomore I got a 191 and Freshman 171

My counselor finally passed out scores today after having them in his office for days…
224
73 Reading (4 wrong, 0 omitted)
80 Math (0 wrong)
71 Writing (2 wrong, 0 omitted) <–HARSH

Texas’ cutoff last year was 219, which was abnormally high compared to the usual 214 or 215, so I think I’m safe as far as becoming a semi-finalist.

212 total. 63 on critical reading, 80 on mathematics (totally unexpected), 69 on writing skills. I think my crit reading score tanked because I am against omitting…doesn’t matter had sex
Hopefully this qualifies me for semifinalist.

197… but im actually proud of myself because i had a 165 last year as a sophomore (and i really tried on it). i made a pact to myself that i would do better and study hard and i went up over 30 points. this just proves the test is not all about intelligence… whatsoever

Because the curves were so crazy, does this mean our state cutoff scores will go down? (IHOPEIHOPEIHOPE)

I’m on the threshold. 213. The cutoff was 211 last time!

unicornrainbow, No one will know what the cuttoff for this year will be until September. Your classmate is misinformed.

omgwthbbq, That’s a good score for a freshman. Yes, you still have hope.

Son & Daughter get theirs today from GC… wonder whats up with IL? Cutoff?
