SAT vs PSAT scores!

Is my SAT score a good predictor of my PSAT score (haven't received it yet)?

2140 SAT ------> ~214 PSAT???

Did anyone get a way higher or lower PSAT score than their SAT score? (I'm talking about last year, obviously not this year...)

I think they can be a good predictor of each other.

187 PSAT (54r, 72m, 61w) vs 2120 SAT (650cr, 760 m, 710 w) & 34 ACT
I only see the correlation that if you do well on one, you’ll do well on the other; the converse holds true as well.

PSAT 214 and SAT 2150 (the first time; went up to 2250 after a little prep).

So yes. Even though I know someone who got a 230 PSAT and 2190 SAT, so it just depends. You’ll probably do well, though, regardless of your exact score.

Honestly though, who cares what your PSAT score is if you already have your SAT score? NMSF is relatively overrated - only a handful of colleges give money for it.

Last year I bombed the PSAT, (69CR 57M 69W, 195 Total) and I’m looking for a HUGE jump. I need a ~210 for NMSF, so I was just wondering if I have a chance…

Those scores need to come FREAKING NOW.

@SGK
My state flagship gives 100% FREE RIDES for NMFs.
So yeah, actually a big deal. Do I want a free college education?
HECK YES I DO.

My practice tests scores are CRAZY!

Psat: 185ish
SAT: 2000ish

PSAT: ~200
SAT: 2300+

Wasn’t really an accurate measure for me. However, it seems to be fairly accurate for most of my friends’ scores.

@Dorkyelmo

My practice tests lie.

Last year…
PSAT Practice Test:~185
REAL PSAT: 195

This year…
SAT Practice Test: consecutive 2400s (6 or so in a row from BB)
REAL SAT: 2140 >_< shame

Great job :smiley:
I hope my scores are the same >.<

PSAT scores are typically lower than SAT scores in my personal experience.
My PSAT put me like top 6%, my SAT has me at better than top 2%
So idk, I guess it really depends on the person.

Yeah, PSAT 214 SAT 2290 (both sophomore year). I think for top kids the SAT has more recent stuff especially math. I’m a junior in calc and I struggled with the geometry on the PSAT.
