PSAT strangely easy??

I took the October 2017 PSAT (saturday one) and it was much easier than the practice tests, I just got my scores back and I got a 750 on the math and a 700 on the english. Last year I got only a 1210… I did study a lot, I did 30min of khan academy every day, plus a Kaplan course and took 3 total practice tests- but even then my scores were 1230, 1360, and 1330. Are there any other reports of the of the october '17 psat being like weirdly easy? Especially the math section, when I did it I was pretty much 100% sure on all my answers, and I only got one wrong (and it was a silly error). Thanks!

Not sure what Kaplan is using for practice tests, but my son found that the first four practice SAT tests released by CB were pretty frustrating compared to the next set of four (released much more recently). He scored at the high end of his practice range on the real PSAT so was very happy with that. Thought the Math was fine and he blew away the verbal which really helped his NMSQT selection index (he’s a junior). So yeah, he thought the real test was easier - or at least more doable - than some of the practice tests (though more similar to the most recent ones). However, others on the PSAT thread thought the math was a bit weird. In reality, it’s hard to gauge what happened just from anecdotes. The commended scores and SF cut-offs will be a better gauge, at least for the high end of the curve.
