I am currently a junior and have taken multiple practice tests on Khan Academy for the new Sat. But since there isn’t a percentile chart i really don’t know what a good score is. So can you guys post your highest practice scores so i can see where i am at? Thank you.
my highest is 1310/1600 680 on math and 630 on reading and writing( trying to improve this score).
I’ve taken 3 tests and my highest is 670 on math and 730 on reading and writing.
I really hope my score increases on math when i take it in paper instead of the desktop
S18 took the official new PSAT practice test and scored 1500 out of 1520. He’s taking the March SAT so he’s saving the SAT practice tests until closer to the test. He worked through all the Khan practice SAT sections before taking the practice test.
@lukee2 My sons took a local prep class last month. As part of the prep class they were given the only official practice PSAT in a timed, proctored environment. (I did mention that it was a practice test in my post) You are right the that only official PSAT is in October. Both S18 and S20 will be taking the official PSAT this Oct. S18 is taking it for practice for the real thing in for NM next year and S20 for the requirements to get into the out of district high school he hopes to attend in 9th grade. FWIW my 8th grader scored 1280 out of 1520.
My kids are homeschooled until 9th grade so the whole idea of taking standardized tests with time limits and filling in little bubbles is very new to them. That’s why I have them take a prep class. I’m sure my youngest will do better once he’s had some practice at taking these kind of tests. I think a little maturity also goes a long way, he is also still working on the math practice section in Khan because some of the math is new to him but he hopes to get through them by the Oct. test date.
