<p>Is 203 a good psat score? I was in the 97th percentile but do you think I will be commended? Semifinalist?</p>

<p>What state are you in? The qualification score varies. In Alabama, it’s about 180, whereas in New Jersey, it’s usually in the low 220s.</p>

<p>Is this a score as a Soph or Junior? If it is as a Junior, then you should have been notified already if you made commended (I think that usually commended is 201+), and you should contact NMSC to find out if you are indeed commended. If you are a soph, then only your jr PSAT would count, and you can look at prior threads to see what the cutoff is for NMSF by state.</p>

<p>Note sure about the commended, but it is extremely unlikely that you will be a semifinalist. Cutoff last year for Michigan was 210 and a 4 or 5 point jump is about the biggest that ever happens between two years.</p>
