I submitted everything on october 15 and heard back the 1st of november. i just submitted by honors college supplement today.

Congrats on getting in! Wow so it only took yours 2 weeks

^ I think it all depends. My application was “complete” on September 9th, I received a decision on November 5th. However, some people from my school who applied around the same time (or a week or two later) Haven’t received a decision yet. Many say that higher stats mean faster admission, but I don’t agree because my SAT wasn’t that great. Just be patient. :slight_smile: best of luck!

Thanks! I hope not. If it were based on grades I wouldn’t get a decision until the last day haha!

when you say not great SAT score what is your not great? Range?? based on the threads it seems as if all the acceptances so far are for stellar SAT and ACT scores… it says that most of acceptances are mainly based on GPA…but who really knows

I’m confused, I didn’t think they accepted letters of rec.

My Visa bill shows S’s application was received 10/31 and his letter of acceptance was dated 11/14. There may have been a lag of few days between when he actually submitted it and when the university got around to billing, but ~two weeks is not uncommon. He applied to the engineering school as an undeclared major with strong (> 75th %ile) stats.

@anxiousmom14:
My SAT score was 1780, which is on the lower end of the scale for University Park. However, my GPA was 102/100 Weighted and 98/100 Un-weighted. So this stat does hold true to Penn State’s claim that GPA is 2/3rds of the decision. I was also ranked first in my class, but I go to a very small public school. Of course there were other factors, such as my Dual Enrollment at a satellite campus but I was surprised I got an acceptance so early, especially to the College of Engineering.

My daughter is currently waiting to hear whether or not she has been accepted to University Park. She applied undeclared because she thought that would be her best chance for getting in.

She has a 1785 SAT, a 3.33 UW and 3.9 weighted GPA. Mostly honors classes and currently takes a class at a local college. She will have two college courses (6 credits) by the time she graduates. Her class rank is at about 30% at a very competitive school. She applied on September 1st and hasn’t heard yet.

Any thoughts on her chances? Does the high school matter? We have several high schools in our area and some are much more competitive than others - are high schools given some type of rating or ranking?

Thanks for any feedback - the wait is so stressful!!!

1785? Is that an average of her scores or…?

I everyone, just wondering if anyone got an acceptance letter before their status changed online??? my sons status has said reviewing credentials for at least a month now. Just wondering how often they update their site.
