BHhazy - I wouldn’t assume that HS grades are the most important factor. They are certainly important, but are more difficult to compare across schools, states and countries. Most schools try to grant admissions based on the entirety of the application including recs, extra-curriculars, etc. but a big piece of that is standardized test scores. Schools will always report the test scores of their freshman classes and many are quite intent on raising that metric, but most refrain from doing the same with grades because of the difficulties I mention above.

Nittanyfan17- I applied in September and by the 20th they received everything and said they were reviewing my credentials. An admissions person came to my school and when I spoke to her she said I should hear in November but here I am in December.

@nittyfan17, @stresssica, @hopmayer Don’t worry as long as on the website it says “we are reviewing your credentials” you should receive a decision within a week. Also most times if you have really good SAT scores they send decisions faster from what I have heard from people in my school that had high SAT’s. But don’t worry and keep checking the website and definitely go for a campus tour because that also shows how committed you are to the school and will just help your application process.

Good luck to you bandnerd14 hopefully you will get in and good luck to your son @jul247 hopefully before christmas he might find out, but definitely by January he should know.

All honors and AP’s… 3 AP’s last year, 6 this year (2 “AP’s” and 4 class at community college), I applied the 18th of November and found out at tonight at 7pm. I am planning on going into Environmental Systems Engineering if that helps at all. I was a little nervous just because my school doesn’t “weight” our GPA’s so I guess they might have recalculated it at the admissions office.
Good Luck, I wish you the best!
