Hey guys new to this board but I have been stalking this thread as I submitted my application the first week it was available.

Just wondering how most of the people who got accepted already found out? Did you get a letter in the mail first or did it appear online first? I don’t know whether one day I will get a letter first then the site will update after or something.

Also sorry for asking but what do you think my chances are?

Major I chose: Aerospace Engineering (Will this effect my chances too much?) to UP

Essay: Was pretty good I believe. Talked a lot on why this is the perfect school for me and that I had relatives who graduated there.

Other factors: Big one - I have a 4 year NROTC scholarship to Penn State, does anyone know if this helps with admissions or the ROTC unit informs them? It seems like it should but not sure.
I am also a legacy as both my brother and father graduated Penn State as well.

Any help appreciated! I am stressing out way too much with this, especially since I got the scholarship to go there.
Hoping I am not waiting till January but you never know.

My daughter was notified electronically today. Encourage your student to monitor the status online. Applied in early October and decision was posted today.

Looks like lots of decisions are coming out today. @moom2610 SAT is a little low, but the GPA looks good so I think she should be alright. Probably a good idea to have checked off summer session though.

@hasannadeem47 unfortunately, she has commitments this summer and could not go for summer session. Hoping that it doesn’t hurt her chances. With my son currently at UP, we’ve become a Penn State family very quickly and holding out hope for her too. thank you for your quick reply!

Do they do it by majors? When do Div of Undergrad Studies decisions come out?

@amarz12 i don’t think so cause someone on twitter got in with a psych major

Gotta admit seeing acceptances is hard while still waiting… Applied DUS/Summer with a 3.4 and 1430/1600 on SAT in September and still no word. SAT is in Top 2% Nationally yet here we wait

@Doubed3266 I feel you, I applied with a 3.7 W and a 1390 SAT. I think generally speaking, people with lower GPA’s have to wait longer to hear back

Yea, I guess on the GPA argument but there are any number of kids on here with 4.0 GPA’s and under 1400 SAT scores. I always thought SAT was the great equalizer between schools/students…
