PSU Class of 2021 Decision Thread

^ you’re borderline so your test scores will matter, as will course rigor (calculus, statistics, level 3-4-5 of a world language, all three from bio, chemistry, physics). You could apply for psychology butbdo check ‘summer session’.
(assuming you’re a junior - if you’re a senior, priority deadline was Nov 30.)

Can anyone tell me chances of getting accepted

@HillRam2k17 congrats! Did you just hear back last night?

@HillRam2k17 What major did you apply for?

Can’t take this much longer…,

Anyone heard of Engineering applicants being offered Summer, Branch or flat out denied yet?

^guys, remember most selective universities give their answers in late March, so waiting till January isn’t that bad.

Definitely worth the wait, but still agonizing every single morning. Patience is a virtue, but it’s definitely not my best one!

@Beangreene I also applied engineering and am still waiting…can’t wait much longer

Most universities have Early Action, Early Decision 1 & 2. So they don’t make you wait 4-5 months to find out…anyway

My question is this…Is no news good news? If one is still waiting having applied in September is that necessarily good, bad or neither? the assumption is Top Stats have already been granted admission. Have lower stats already been denied?

@Oneiota there’s around 100,000 (?) applications, the major you apply for, whether or not you put summer and/or summer starting put your application down a different path. Stats might also influence this but clearly not to the extent of denying low stats and accepting high stats. I know someone in my school was accepted to UP with under a 4.0 and a higher ACT and another with stats around me was put into the other campuses

My son applied two years ago and heard back with 90% of the others at the end of January about his acceptance, and my daughter applied in early November of this year and heard in early December that she was accepted. It’s all random. Just remember, in the end, it doesn’t matter if you find out earlier or later in the real picture…it’s all worth it when when you can say WE ARE

@Oneiota from what i’ve heard on here and from people i know no one has gotten denied yet. I am not sure how denial are handled but im assuming means they reject everyone in late january so no news probably isnt necessarily good news

@finnbd33 they have let people know rejections so far. According to the admissions counselor I spoke to, they have denied just as many as they have accepted.

Yea @finnbd33 that doesn’t seem likely as becca said. Why put off letting people know they are not going to be accepted until late January when you have a ton of acceptances to send out. There are outliers on both ends. I think those people generally know(not all) and then there is the rest of us poor souls checking the portal everyday, multiple times for three or four months. It’s funny, in an odd way I’ll miss the routine of logging on and closing my eyes for a second before looking…only to see nothing changed. So count me in, I’m one of the poor souls waiting
