Hey CC! I was recently accepted into Penn State - University Park as an intended computer science major and will be attending. However, I am a little bit nervous because of the math pre-reqs that are required to declare a computer science major (I believe they are Calc 1, Calc 2, and a few others that I cannot remember). I have never been "bad at math, but I am by no means great at it. Next year will be my first time taking Calculus. When I visited for an accepted students program, the person leading the engineering presentation said that the math pre-reqs are rather difficult. Does anyone have any experience in these classes or could offer me some insight into the difficulty of these classes or just the difficulty of math in computer science majors as a whole?

Did you retake your ALEKS and place into MATH 140?
@bodangles I retook it and replaced into Math 26, which I think I’m going to try to take this summer and then take Math 140 in the fall.
What level of Math have you had so far? Can you see with your current HS teacher if you could get extra exercises to strengthen your preparation?
