Just curious, does anyone know when the next wave of decisions will come?

“We are in the final stages of review of your application and an admission decision will be posted here in the coming days.” Yayy, how long do you guys think until decisions are released?

Have a lot of people been denied yet? Haven’t really heard a lot of those…or maybe people just aren’t saying.

@Tooth1010 I have heard of some denials, but my guess is there are many more because CC is only a small subset of actual applicants.

PSU admissions did tweet today that this is the last week for decisions before the holiday. So if you hear nothing by tomorrow, the earliest you will hear again is after they return on January 5th.

So, it looks like a lot of us can just let the refresh button on MyPennState rest for a while. Let’s just all enjoy the holidays and look forward to a bright new year…regardless of what the admissions decisions turn out to be. My D and I were talking today and she said that while she will be very sad initially if placed in a branch campus - she will still be proud to be a part of PSU and she will make it work for her. I hope everyone can have that attitude. One decision will not make or break who you are as a person.

@Mayosauce you should hear back most likely tomorrow or Saturday. When my status changed to that on a Friday, I heard around 5:30 pm on Monday.

Thanks

@Tooth1010 what is PSU tweeter account name?

@defndr11 Penn State Admissions twitter account is @PSU_Admissions. They answer lots of questions, but I’m pretty sure it’s the interns that answer - so I’m guessing no answers over the holidays.

If decisions come out, what time do they usually come out? My status changed to coming days yesterday, and i’ve been waiting all day today haha

@Mayosauce Hoping for good news for you! I believe they update them once a day, after business hours sometime. I think most people see the updates later at night. That’s why they tell people to check the statuses in the morning.
Good luck!!

General Comments: Took awhile, got my decision 1 day after the coming days status

Yess! More Lebanese people

I know someone who applied after priority who’s portal already changed to “coming days.” Wow I really hate this admissions process!!!

@scohen99 That is super frustrating! I had asked admissions if all priority applicants would be notified prior to any applicants after priority and they said “mostly”, but that it depends on the major etc… I don’t understand how it’s even possible to have a priority deadline, call the admissions process ‘rolling’ and then still consider those who applied after the priority deadline before those who applied earlier.

I was reading old threads on CC and I saw someone write about how painful the admissions process is at PSU. They seem to make it more stressful than other schools of even the same size. There has to be a better way than the way they do it now…which is full of chronic anxiety and stress for applicants because there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to speak of. There probably never was…but when I went there 25 years ago, we only heard by mail - so we had no idea when others were hearing. My D has been waiting 3 1/2 months with the same status and we have absolutely no idea where her admissions decision will fall. After waiting so long…a rejection will be even harder to take!

Just wondering. Have they sent out any defer/denial letters yet?

@C1TonDoe Yes. There have been some denials and deferments to branch campuses. Mostly here on CC we have seen acceptances, but others have posted that they do know of people who have been denied or admitted to a branch. In that way, I suppose, no news is good news!

Accepted into Smeal College of Business. I also applied to Shreyer, but I may have to withdraw my application since I was accepted into my top school ED. Good luck to everyone else.
